Day 6 – Tuesday, June 8, 2010 Pender Harbour, Sunshine Coast to Silva Bay, Galiano Island

Up to a beautiful morning.  Checked the crab trap and no luck yet again.

We left by 10 a.m. and headed down Malaspina Strait and into the long, wide and lonely Strait of Georgia.  There was very little in the way of boat traffic, and the wind gods were once again not favoring us.  We spent the better part of the day motoring.

Time was catching up to us, and we knew that we had to get as close to home as possible.  We discussed travelling to Nanaimo or Chemainus, but decided instead to head back to Silva Bay on Galiano Island and spend the night there.

Once settled, Terry and Brian set the crab trap in hopes of catching an elusive crab.

The boys wanted to watch the hockey game that night, so we picked a marina with a pub.  Turns out the game wasn’t scheduled until the following night, so we endured the good food but terrible music played at the pub.

After dinner, Terry and Brian checked the crab trap and found it contained only a sea cucumber which was returned to the ocean.

We all called it a night as everyone was tired after the long day on the water.
